Securities may be redeemed, at the issuers option, as early as 12/31/2017 for a redemption price of $25/share plus accrued dividends, PLUS accrued appreciations rights (see prospectus).  The Home Price Appreciation rights cease to accrue on 12/31/2020.

After 12/31/2017 American Homes 4 Rent can convert shares to common shares with a formula outlined in the propectus.

After 12/31/2020 the dividend rate will move to 10% which will be calculated on the $25 share plus accrued Home Price Appreciation amounts.

Dividend Payment Will Not Be Qualified Distributions.  Dividends of preferred stocks of REITs are not eligible for the qualified tax rate.
