Dividend Stocks

Dividend stocks are sometimes referred to as defensive stocks, since companies that pay dividends to their shareholders usually are in stable and/or growing industries. These industries include consumer goods, utilities and banks, which traditionally are regarded as good defensive stocks. When the market turns bearish, you often will hear about a “flight to quality.”
