Special Dividends
Special dividends, also known as extra dividends, are a non-recurring dividend payment to shareholders. These special dividends typically occur in wake of a unique event, such as a major asset sale or unexpected profit growth, and are often larger than companies’ regular dividends. These sizable dividend payments are hard to predict but can bring major profit to shareholders when timed appropriately.
Listed below is a history of special dividend payments by publicly traded companies.
