The REIT is an unincorporated, open-ended real estate investment trust. The REIT is engaged in the investment in commercial retail properties, focusing on acquiring and managing a portfolio of retail and mixed-use retail community and neighbourhood shopping centres, primarily in the mid-market value range of C$10,000,000 to C$50,000,000, from both primary and secondary markets throughout Canada. The REIT's goal is to generate a reliable and growing tax-efficient return for unitholders. As of Dec 31 2011, the REIT owned retail and mixed use retail properties in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.
